How does participating in IDC's Technology Advisory Council benefit me? How does participating in IDC's Technology Advisory Council benefit me? IDC's Technology Advisory Council is composed of consumers, business people, executives, mobile workers, and IT professionals, from premier companies to small organizations, from large family households to single adults. As a member of the Council, you will have an active role in influencing the direction of future mobile products and services by contributing to decisions made by leading companies. As a Council member, you will receive summarized highlights from the surveys and an entry into a drawing for cash prizes or gift certificates to leading Web sites such as Amazon.com. IDC also awards free tickets to Council members for select IDC conferences. How do I become a member of IDC's Technology Advisory Council? If you agreed to participate when we contacted you, then you are already a member. To continue being a member, we ask that you participate in our periodic surveys and check this Web site for new information and updates. If you are not currently a member, just complete the short registration questionnaire. You will then receive an email confirmation with more information about your Council membership and completing the surveys. Is there a membership fee to join IDC's Technology Advisory Council? There is no charge to be a member of IDC's Technology Advisory Council. This is strictly a research effort. How much of my time will be required? We have tried to make your participation in IDC's Technology Advisory Council as convenient as possible. Periodically, we will contact you via email to request your opinions in an online survey regarding your mobile device and service-related requirements, needs, and wants. You will be able to complete these surveys at a time that is convenient for you either at work or at home. Each survey should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on your answers. We will ask you to complete 4 to 6 surveys per year. How are my answers going to be used? Your answers will be used to help guide future mobile product and service offerings that will reach the market. Technology and service companies are always looking for better ways to meet the needs of consumers, professionals, and individual workers. Please be assured that your answers will be kept confidential and will never be associated with you or your company. We will not sell your name or your address to any company. No products or services will be marketed to you as a result of your participation in the Council. Any reports that are prepared will show findings in aggregate. What if my job status or company profile changes? To report changes in your job status or company information, please notify the Council Director via email at the following address: jguloyan@idc.com. What if I decide not to participate anymore? Our goal is to make your participation in IDC's Technology Advisory Council a professionally rewarding experience and to provide you with valuable information that will be useful to you and your company. However, if you decide to resign from the Council, notify the Council Director via email at the following address: jguloyan@idc.com. Whom do I contact for additional questions? If you have questions about IDC and/or IDC's Technology Advisory Council, contact the Council Director by sending an email to: jguloyan@idc.com. How will I receive access to the summary of IDC Council data? Periodically, IDC will provide new and interesting wireless and mobile market analysis at this Web site. Please check back monthly to see what is new. As a Mobile Advisory Council member, what prizes am I eligible for? IDC will randomly draw five names for a one-time registration drawing each quarter, and five drawings for each survey. IDC will award cash prizes or gift certificates to leading sites such as Amazon.com as well as it's MAC sponsor sites. IDC also awards free tickets to select IDC conferences. Winners will be notified via email. Privacy statement: IDC values the privacy of those individuals and organizations who participate in our surveys, therefore IDC does not sell, rent, or otherwise distribute information that can be associated with any person or organization. The only exception is the optional prize drawings that IDC sometimes conducts, where IDC may have to learn the identity of the prize winner in order to award the prize and to comply with current IRS regulations.
